The symbol

The moon's phases trace a 29.5 day synodic cycle, the period between two new moons, the basis of every lunar calendar across human history. The phase sequence (new, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full, waning gibbous, last quarter, waning crescent) was recorded across cultures long before any theory of why. Across traditions the phases have been long associated with cycles of change, the natural rhythm of growth and release.

About this stone

Diamond is pure crystalline carbon, formed at depths of 150 to 250 kilometers in the earth's mantle and carried to the surface by deep volcanic eruptions that occurred 1 to 3 billion years ago. The stone is 10 on the Mohs scale, the hardest natural material known. The set of small accent diamonds across this ring was matched by a certified gemologist for size and color so the phases read evenly.

Care and wear

Sterling silver naturally tans over time, a process accelerated by humidity and exposure to sulfur compounds. Remove before swimming or showering. Clean with a silver polishing cloth as needed. The diamond accents are unaffected by normal cleaning.
